RULES FOR CLASS
No chewing gum or eating in the classroom!!!!!
BE ON TIME!!!!If you are late, ask permission to enter class or you may not get to participate in class.
Make sure little ones use the bathroom before class.
All students should thank teachers for class. If given a compliment during class, they should say "thank you".
If a student becomes disruptive in the classroom, the teacher will ask them to sit out the 1st offense. The 2nd offense they will be let out of the classroom, not to return for the day.The 3rd offense the child will be dropped from the class.
Please keep the waiting room clean. Do not let young children stand on chairs or run loose in the lobby. Do not leave young children unattended. Please pick up any mess you have made before you leave.
Please come inside to pick up younger ones from class.I do not like them waiting outside. If you are leaving during their class time, please be sure you tell them in case you get delayed.
Students and parents need to be aware that teachers correcting all dance technique will at times need to touch students so they understand the proper alignment, placement of arms or legs, or to help them to understand the proper muscles they should be using. All creative movement, ballet, jazz, modern and hip hop classes consist of stretching and strengthening. Muscles may get tired or ache after a proper stretch. For strengthening, push ups, sit ups and leg lifts are a part of the warm up, starting at level 1, and modified for each level.
Before you pick up the phone to call, check the latest newsletter, handbook, or go online for any information.
Visitor days are scheduled semimonthly throughout the year. They will be announced in newsletters and posted on the board by the check box.The 1st one will be the week of October 19th. Parents will be allowed in for the full class time for the during the October visitors only. After that, they will be asked in during the last 10 minutes of class
You must still pay for classes missed. It is your responsibility to make up classes. Open studio will begin in October and is for everyone, not just those who have missed. This is a chance for students to come in and work on their own or to get help from a teacher. There is no charge for open studio and is open to students of all ages.
THERE ARECLASSES ON MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY, PRESIDENTS DAY AND ALL SCHOOL IN-SERVICE DAYS!
I will have a message on the machine.I very rarely cancel class. If class is canceled more than once, it will be made up.Just because school was canceled for the day doesn't mean dance will be canceled.Keep in touch by reading newsletter for updates, or have it e-mailed to you!
" Dance is your pulse, your heartbeat, your breathing. It's the rhythm of your life. It's the expression in time and movement, in happiness, joy, sadness and envy"
--Jaques D'Amboise
Costume fees due are December 15th.
Child extra small, small and medium are $65
Large child and adult size costume are $75
Extra large, child or Adult, are $80
Fees include costume, tights, headpiece and any accessories excluding shoes. It will also include a copy of your child's music on CD.If you do not wish to be in recital please let me know by the 10th of December so I will not measure for costume. Each child is measured for their costume in December, and given room to grow.I must order this early as costume companies are very busy this time of year and it takes any where from 6-12 weeks to receive costumes. If there are problems it will take as long to get them sent back and exchanged. The cost of costumes increases each year, but so does the quality.I try very hard to find costumes that have no or minimal sewing required.
