RAYETTES DANCE COMPANY 2009
COMPANY
The Rayettes Dance Company (RDC) consists of students age 7-19 who wish to take dance to the next level of discipline.They take a ballet technique class two-three times weekly, plus a jazz and tap technique class, a stretch and strengthening class along with their company choreography classes.They have performed at the Mall at Fairfield Commons, Dayton Mall and the Schuster Center during the holidays, the Beavercreek Popcorn Festival, at local nursing homes, plus for private parties and events.In 2004 they performed their own show at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando.In the past they have traveled to New York City to take classes and soak up the culture of the city. They performed in the 1999 Macy's Day Parade.They compete at local, state competitions, and national competitions.
The Rayettes Dance Company members audition for placement in August.Students interested must take summer classes to prepare for audition.They will then be placed in large and small groups, duo, trios or offered solos for competition. All students who wish to have solo, duo or trio must take these classes and audition.In the fall, Company members must take 2 ballet technique classes, plus class in any discipline they are chosen to compete.A separate company fee includes choreography, competitions, costume and rehearsals.

MICHELE ASSAF Jazz, Lyrical & A-I Flexibility
Internationally renowned producer/ director/ choreographer and master teacher, Michèle Assaf has worked on
Broadway, Off-Broadway, Regional and International Theater projects as well as film and Television. Michèle
directed and choreographed The Mariah Carey Charmbracelet World Tour. "...the fact that she has assembled a

It's Superman, Sweet Charity, Jesus Christ Superstar, Mata Hari, Bring in The Morning, Can Can, Hair, Jeanne La Pucelle, Strides, Topper, The Alchemist and the 20th anniversary production of Annie at The Goodspeed Opera House w/ Martin Charnin. Her teaching background is also extensive, as she has trained dancers/teachers and renowned choreographers from NYC to LA and internationally for the past 30 years. After 15 years as Artistic Director for an International Convention in the South of Italy - she is venturing on her own to create "World Dance Movement" -The International Workshop this summer July 13-26, 2009, in Italy! She is an experienced and giving teacher whose students learn to develop and refine their personal style. Teaching her students to understand their bodies and how they have the control to create any movement asked of them is her forte. She understands the instrument and how it works for each individual, and is passionate about her teaching and tries to dig deep with her students to get to the core of their expression in relation to the given choreography. JEANETTE THAGARD KIEFFER Hip-hop, Tap & Teacher's Jazz
Over her 18 years of teaching Jeanette has truly taken the art of dance to another level. Her innovative ideas are
incomparable - her creativity unmatched. She is constantly bringing new life to her work and the studio through her amazing choreography. Jeanette prides herself on creating a new vision with each dance, thus challenging her students to master many different styles and feelings. Through different scholarship programs, Jeanette has studied with master teachers everywhere, from New York to Los Angeles. She now instructs classes in jazz, hip-hop, lyrical / contemporary tap, ballet, and cheerleading to students of all ages across the country. Her work is constantly in demand for private dance companies, corporate events, dance teams, cheerleading squads, and pageants nationwide, featuring everything from soloists to pieces involving more than 200 performers. She is especially proud to have built one of the largest boys' dance programs, at over 100 male students under her direction at PDC. Jeanette is the founder, choreographer, and creative director of The J Company and SLAM. As well as producing an annual show, these professional companies were featured on the nationally televised Miss Ohio Show, where Jeanette served as choreographer and an assistant producer. Jeanette has been honored to perform their work at the Jazz Dance World Congress, as well as charity functions such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the Candlelight for Children Foundation events. Through her companies, Jeanette was contracted to choreograph many shows and industrials for The Longaberger Company as they opened their first retail attraction. While building her family and career at home, Jeanette still finds time to travel the dance convention circuit. Currently you will find her on tour with Dance Olympus, Tam Jams, and Dance Masters. She is excited to continue spreading her vision of dance all over the world, touching the lives of dancers everywhere.
