RULES FOR CLASS
These rules are for the safety and comfort or the dancers and those in the waiting room.
No chewing gum or eating in the classroom, there is a danger of choking.
BE ON TIME! If you are late, you need to ask permission to enter class to get to participate in class. It would be best to be early to stretch and warm up muscles!
Make sure little ones use the bathroom before class.
All students should thank teachers for class. If given a compliment during class, they should say "thank you".
If a student becomes disruptive in the classroom, the teacher will ask them to sit out the 1st offense. The 2nd offense they will be let out of the classroom, not to return for the day. The 3rd offense the child will be dropped from the class.
Please keep the waiting room clean. Do not let young children stand on chairs or run loose in the lobby. Do not leave young children unattended. Please pick up any mess you have made before you leave.
Please come inside to pick up younger ones from class. We do not like them waiting outside. If you are leaving during their class time, please be sure you tell them in case you get delayed.
Students and parents need to be aware that teachers correcting all dance technique will at times need to touch students so they understand the proper alignment, placement of arms or legs, or to help them to understand the proper muscles they should be using. All creative movement, ballet, jazz, modern and hip hop classes consist of stretching and strengthening. Muscles may get tired or ache after a proper stretch. For strengthening, push ups, sit ups and leg lifts are a part of the warm up, starting at level 1, and modified for each level.
Before you pick up the phone to call, check website for the information you need.
Visitor days are scheduled semimonthly throughout the year. They will be announced on website calendar and posted on the board by the desk. The 1st one will be the week of October 24th. Parents will be allowed in for the full class time for the during the October visitors only. After that, they will be asked in during the last 10 minutes of class
You must still pay for classes missed. If too many classes are missed before recital, you may not get to participate without making up classes. See your teacher for ways to make up missed class.
THERE ARE CLASSES ON MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY, PRESIDENTS DAY AND ALL SCHOOL IN-SERVICE DAYS!
Snow days!
I will have a message on the machine .I very rarely cancel class. If class is canceled more than once, it will be made up. Just because school was canceled for the day doesn't mean dance will be canceled.
Check back to the website for updates!
